Quotes can be so inspirational and I especially love those that make you ponder.... Here's a little inspiration from two I recently stumbled upon as I did a little pre-Spring cleaning:
"Life is only worth living, if lived without resistance..." My friend Margaret shared this quote with me last year. A friend of hers said it to her. I wrote it down that evening and have loved revisiting it ever since. I love it because it reminds me not to hold back....to live with an open heart and with the faith in possibility. All those times that I didn't hold back were the most fulfilling moments of my life. They've led to unforgettable experiences and cherished moments.
"..Everything you want in this world is right outside your comfort zone.." I adore this line! This sounds silly, but it's a Jennifer Aniston quote from her 2006 Vogue Magazine interview. Who knows if she heard/read it somewhere else, but it resonates with me like crazy to this day. How little some things change! To evolve as a human being is to keep learning and be stimulated. For me this means attempting a challenging exercise whether it be a yoga pose or public speaking, tasting an unfamiliar exotic dish, or hearing a beautiful piece of music new to my ears. I get out of my comfort zone every time I travel somewhere I've never been, every time I meet someone new, every time I make a meal I've never cooked or tasted before. At that moment, life begins all over again.
To tie these back to yoga, personally the practice consistently takes me out of the comfort zone of my body and mind. And as it does, I stop resisting, and start feeling. A complete immersion in the present follows and I embrace it wholeheartedly.....
